A crème brulee cronut. That sounds like a cream filled glazed donut to me, and that’s exactly what it was. I got this one from Mr. Donut in Kyoto. Well, it wasn’t exactly glazed in a traditional manner, but with blowtorched sugar just like a regular crème brulee. This gave the cronut a nice crunchy outer shell. The inside was filled with a deliciously sweet pudding finishing the crème brulee effect. The dough itself was much more like puff pastry than either a donut or a croissant. Regardless, it was a great donut that definitely reminded of crème brulee.
